Maryland PAC
The Maryland Political Action Committee (PAC) was formed to empower physical therapists to be more involved in the determination of state laws and policies. APTA of Maryland decided to create a mechanism that would allow the physical therapy profession to channel its financial and grassroots support to help elect candidates to the Maryland legislature who are responsive to the physical therapy profession's goals and viewpoints. The Maryland PAC plays an important role in our ability to interact with candidates. As the 2010 elections get closer your help is needed. Your support to the PAC is crucial as we step up to the next level of political involvement.
Support Throughout the Legislative Year!
It is vital that we maintain support for the physical therapy profession throughout the year as issues can arise at any time that can impact the practice of physical therapy. In addition, we continue to work on gaining support to address issues such as referral for profit and defending our practice act. PAC funds not only support candidates but also education efforts.
How are decisions reached concerning contributions?
The Maryland PAC solicits input from Chapter members concerning prospective campaign contributions in open seat races. Chapter members can request contributions for candidates running for Congress by sending an e-mail with your recommendation to Lee Miller at LeeMiller001@aol.com.
