Committee

The Student Committee represents the concerns of students throughout the state in our evolving health care system . The committee is made up of liaisons from each of the PT and PTA programs who are the officers of the committee . Student involvement in chapter activities is paramount to the future of the physical therapy profession.

Involvement in the Student Committee is a perfect opportunity for students to learn about issues, become involved, and meet lifelong acquaintances. All students must work toward a common goal; that is, to learn about the profession and how to help advance the profession as we move toward managed care

How to Get Involved
A letter was sent out to all of the PT and PTA Program Chairs requesting 2 liaisons from each program to sit on the committee as officers. Terms are for 1 year and the plan is to elect a PT and PTA co-chair. The goal is that committee membership will involve liaisons from each PT and PTA program and will represent each class from each school.

The liaison serve as an outreach arm into each program as well as are able to take the pulse of needs and issues across the various programs. If your program does not have a liaison and you are interested, please contact your program chair for your name to submitted to the Chapter.

Also, if you are interested in getting involved and there is already a liaison from your program, we are looking for additional members to assist with our various activities. Just send an email to aptamd@aptamd.org.
