Helping to Diversify the Physical Therapy Workforce
APTAMD’s is raising awareness about the physical therapy profession to inspire and empower minority students in K-12 and pre PT programs to pursue the physical therapy profession.
Each year we target different areas and programs to connect with. Calls for volunteers go out via eblast to our members and are also available on our DEI Committee Workspace.
Supporting Students and Early Career Professionals through Mentorship
Through quarterly mentor nights and 1:1 mentorship, APTAMD has developed a program to better support students of physical therapy and also creating a program to fill in the gap between school and career. Key Resource – APTA’s Best Practices in Mentoring.
