The Richard T Peret Distinguished Service Award
The Richard T. Peret Jr. Distinguished Service Award is presented to one or more individuals who have shown a strong commitment to and/or have had a dramatic effect on the physical therapy profession, although recipients do not have to be PTs or PTAs. The award is presented by the president of APTA Maryland, Inc., at the Annual Fall Meeting.
The pool of candidates is drawn from letters of nomination submitted to the APTA Maryland Award Committee.

Richard T Peret, PT
The award celebrates the contributions of Rick Peret who has a long record of service to the APTA Maryland, National APTA, and the physical therapy profession. He served as our chapter president, director for government relations, director for practice, chair for the Eastern District and Maryland delegate to the House of Delegates. He has championed the chapter and the profession in Annapolis, helping to guide legislative efforts in the best interests of PTS, PTAs, physical therapy students, and the citizens of Maryland. It is for his distinguished service that the award is apply named.
